7. INTEGRATION OF THIRD-PARTY CONTENT

Third-party content such as videos, maps, RSS feeds or graphics from other websites are integrated into the website. This integration always assumes that the providers of these contents (“third party providers”) are aware of the IP addresses of the users. You can prevent or block this by making appropriate browser settings. This may result in functional restrictions on the website. In general, we are not responsible for the content of websites to which links are provided.

Google Web Fonts

We use so-called Web Fonts, which are provided by Google. When you call up a page, your browser loads the required fonts to display texts and fonts correctly.
For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to the servers of Google. This enables Google to know that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Web Fonts is in the interest of a uniform presentation. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. You can object to this by adjusting and changing your browser settings accordingly.

Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in the Google privacy policy: https://www.google.com/policies/privacy/.

Google Maps

We also use the service “Google Maps” from Google to display maps or map sections. For this purpose, the browser you use must connect to the Google servers. This enables Google to know that our website has been accessed via your IP address. The use of Google Maps is in the interest of an attractive offer of our website. This represents a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6 para. 1 sentence 1 lit. f) DSGVO. In principle, you have a right of revocation, whereby you must contact Google directly to exercise this right.

You can find the privacy policy of Google under: http://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy

Google also processes your personal data in the USA and has submitted to the EU-US Privacy Shield. You can find information on this at: https://www.privacyshield.gov/EU-US-Framework.

Further information on the terms of use of Google Maps can be found at: https://www.google.com/intl/de_de/help/terms_maps.html.

Google reCAPTCHA

We use “Google reCAPTCHA” on our website from Google Inc. reCAPTCHA is intended to check whether the data input on our websites (e.g. in a contact form) is done by a human being or by an automated program. For this purpose, reCAPTCHA analyzes the behavior of the website visitor based on various characteristics. This analysis starts automatically as soon as the website visitor enters the website. For analysis purposes, reCAPTCHA evaluates various information (e.g. IP address, time spent on the website or mouse movements made by the user). The data collected during the analysis is forwarded to Google. The reCAPTCHA analyses run completely in the background. Website visitors are not notified that an analysis is taking place.

The data processing is based on Art. 6 para. 1 p. 1 lit. f) DSGVO. As website operators, we have a legitimate interest in protecting our website offers from abusive automated spying and from SPAM. Further information about Google reCAPTCHA and the Google privacy policy can be found in the following links: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

Instagram

Plug-ins from Instagram LLC. are used on our website. The plug-ins are marked with an Instagram logo e.g. in the form of an “Instagram Camera”. When you visit our website equipped with Instagram plug-in, your browser connects directly to Instagram servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted by Instagram directly to your browser and incorporated into the page. This integration informs Instagram that your browser has visited the appropriate page on our website, even if you do not have an Instagram profile or are not currently logged in to Instagram. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to an Instagram server in the United States and stored there. If you are logged in to Instagram, Instagram can immediately associate your visit to our website with your Instagram account. The same applies if you interact with the plug-in and press the “Instagram” button. The information is also published to your Instagram account and displayed to your contacts.

For more information on how we handle user data, please refer to Instagram’s privacy policy at: https://help.instagram.com/155833707900388/

Issuu

On our website, a JavaScript code is used to integrate a plug-in from the Digital Publishing Platform Issuu, which enables you to call up various of our publications (e.g. static proofs) as flip page e-paper. Issuu uses “cookies” that are stored on your computer and which enable an analysis of your use of the website. In this way Issuu collects and stores personal data such as your IP address and information about the time and duration of your use. If you are logged into your Issuu account, you enable Issuu to assign your surfing behavior directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Issuu account. The transfer to Issuu will not take place until you have activated JavaScript in your browser. You can prevent the use of cookies by adjusting your browser software settings accordingly or by installing a JavaScript blocker.

For more information about the processing and use of data by Issuu, please refer to the following link http://issuu.com/legal/privacy.

Twitter

Our website uses plug-ins from the blogging service Twitter, which is operated by Twitter Inc. The plug-ins are marked with a Twitter logo, for example in the form of a blue or grey “Twitter bird”. By clicking on the Twitter logo, the plug-in establishes a direct connection to the Twitter servers. The content of the plug-in is transmitted by Twitter directly to your browser and integrated into the page. Through the integration, Twitter receives the information that your browser has called up the corresponding page of our website, even if you do not have a profile on Twitter or are not currently logged in to Twitter. This information (including your IP address) is transmitted by your browser directly to a Twitter server in the USA and stored there. If you are logged in to Twitter, Twitter can immediately assign your visit to our website to your Twitter account. If you interact with the plug-ins, for example by clicking the “Twitter” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a Twitter server and stored there. The information is also published on your Twitter account and displayed to your contacts. If you do not want Twitter to assign the data collected via our website directly to your Twitter account, you must log out of Twitter before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the Twitter plug-ins from loading by using add-ons for your browser.

For more information about the processing and use of data by Twitter, please see the following link: https://www.google.com/intl/de/policies/privacy/.

YouTube

We use the youtube.com platform to post our own videos and make them publicly available. YouTube is the offer of a third party not affiliated with us, namely YouTube LLC. When you visit our site, which is equipped with the YouTube plug-in, a connection to the YouTube servers is established, since we directly integrate videos stored on YouTube. During this integration, content from the YouTube website is displayed in parts of a browser window. However, the YouTube videos are only retrieved and a connection to the YouTube servers is established by a separate click. In the event that you follow a link to YouTube, we would like to point out that YouTube stores the data of its users (e.g. personal information, IP address) in accordance with its own data usage guidelines and uses it for business purposes. However, this information cannot be assigned to you unless you have registered/logged in to YouTube or another Google service (e.g. Google+) before you access the page. You can prevent this association by logging out of Google’s services. In general, once you start playing a embedded video by clicking on it, YouTube will only store cookies on your device that do not contain any personally identifiable information unless you are currently signed in to a Google service. These cookies can be prevented by appropriate browser settings and extensions.

For more information on how we handle user data, please see the YouTube privacy policy at: https://www.google.de/intl/de/policies/privacy.

Vimeo

We also use the provider Vimeo for the integration if videos. If you call up one of our websites equipped with such a plug-in, a direct connection to the Vimeo servers is established, since we integrate the videos directly. During this integration, content from the Vimeo website is displayed in parts of a browser window. This transfers to the Vimeo server which of our internet pages you have visited. If you are logged in as a member of Vimeo, Vimeo assigns this information to your personal user account. When you use the plug-in, for example by clicking on the start button of a video, this information is also assigned to your user account. You can prevent this assignment by logging out of your Vimeo user account before using our website and deleting the corresponding cookies from Vimeo.

For more information about how Vimeo handles user information, please refer to the Vimeo privacy policy: https://vimeo.com/privacy.

8. SERVICES FOR MARKETING AND ANALYSIS

We use third-party services for marketing and analysis purposes. These third parties use cookies to control their services. You can object to these services by changing your browser settings accordingly.

To collect and evaluate the information, we use Google Analytics, a web analysis service of Google Inc. (“Google”). Google Analytics uses cookies. The information thus generated about your use of this website is stored on a Google server. Your IP address will be anonymized before storage. This anonymisation is carried out by Google within member states of the European Union or in other states which are party to the Agreement on the European Economic Area.

On our behalf, Google will use this information to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on the website activities and to provide us with further services related to the use of the website and the Internet. You may refuse the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate settings on your browser, however, please note that if you do this you may not be able to use the full functionality of this website. You can also prevent the collection of data generated by the cookies and related to your use of the website by deactivating Google Analytics. The available browser plugin for this purpose can be found here.

If you wish to object to the use of Google Analytics from a mobile device, you can do so via the following link: Mobile objection.

You can find more information on the terms of use of Google Analytics under this link , information on data protection at Google can be found here.

9. Plug-Ins

Plug-ins of social networks are integrated on our website.

If you do not want Google, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube or Instagram to associate the data collected through our website directly with your profile in the respective service, you must log out of the respective service before visiting our website. You can also completely prevent the loading of the plug-ins with add-ons for your browser by using a script blocker “NoScript” (http://noscript.net/).

1o. Newsletter

If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we need an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. Further data will not be collected or only on a voluntary basis. We use these data exclusively for sending the requested information and do not pass them on to third parties.

The processing of the data entered in the newsletter registration form is based exclusively on your consent. You can revoke your consent to the storage of the data, the e-mail address, and its use for sending the newsletter at any time. The legality of the data processing procedures already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data you have provided us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and deleted after you have cancelled your subscription. Data that has been stored by us for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remains unaffected.

MailChimp

This website uses the services of MailChimp for sending newsletters. Provider is Rocket Science Group LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE, Suite 5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA. Thanks to MailChimp we can send you interesting news very easily via our newsletter. With MailChimp we do not need to install anything and can still draw from a pool of useful functions. However, this means that if you enter data for the purpose of receiving newsletters (e.g. e-mail address), this data is stored on the servers of MailChimp in the USA.

MailChimp is certified according to the “EU-US Privacy-Shield”. The “Privacy-Shield” is an agreement between the European Union (EU) and the USA, which is intended to ensure compliance with European data protection standards in the USA. We have concluded a so-called “Data-Processing-Agreement” with MailChimp, in which we commit MailChimp to protect the data of our customers and not to pass them on to third parties. This agreement can be viewed under the following link: https://mailchimp.com/legal/forms/data-processing-agreement/sample-agreement/. More information about this agreement can be found at https://mailchimp.com/legal/data-processing-addendum/.

MailChimp allows us to analyze our newsletter campaigns. When you open an e-mail sent with MailChimp, a file contained in the e-mail (so-called web-beacon) connects to the servers of MailChimp in the USA. This way it can be determined whether a newsletter message was opened, and which links were clicked on, if any. Furthermore, technical information is collected (e.g. time of retrieval, IP address, browser type and operating system). This information cannot be assigned to the respective newsletter recipient. It is used exclusively for statistical analysis of newsletter campaigns. The results of these analyses can be used to better adapt future newsletters to the interests of the recipients.

If you do not want to receive analysis by MailChimp, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a link in every newsletter message. You can also unsubscribe directly on the website.

The data processing is based on your consent. You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing the newsletter. The legality of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.

The data that you provide us with for the purpose of subscribing to the newsletter will be stored by us until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and will be deleted from our servers as well as from the servers of MailChimp after you unsubscribe from the newsletter. Data which is stored for other purposes (e.g. e-mail addresses for the member area) remains unaffected.

You can find more details in the privacy policy of MailChimp at: https://mailchimp.com/legal/terms/.

What does Mailchimp save?

The Rocket Science Group LLC (MailChimp) maintains online platforms that allow us to contact you (if you have subscribed to our newsletter). If you become a subscriber of our newsletter via our website, you confirm your membership in an e-mail list of MailChimp by e-mail. To enable MailChimp to prove that you are registered in the “list provider”, the date of registration and your IP address will be saved. Furthermore, MailChimp stores your e-mail address, name, physical address and demographic information, such as language or location.

This information is used to send you emails and to enable certain other MailChimp features (such as newsletter analysis).

MailChimp also shares information with third parties to provide better service. MailChimp also shares some information with third-party advertising partners to better understand the interests and concerns of our customers and to provide more relevant content and targeted advertising.

Through so-called “web beacons” (small graphics in HTML e-mails), MailChimp can determine whether the e-mail has arrived, whether it has been opened and whether links have been clicked on. All this information is stored on the MailChimp servers. Thus, we get statistical evaluations and see exactly how well our newsletter was received by you. This way we can adapt our offer much better to your wishes and improve our service.

MailChimp may also use this information to improve its own service. This way, for example, the dispatch can be technically optimized or the location (country) of the recipients can be determined.

Sometimes it can happen that you open our newsletter for a better presentation via a given link. This is the case, for example, if your e-mail program does not work or the newsletter is not displayed correctly. The newsletter is then displayed on a MailChimp website. MailChimp also uses cookies on its own websites. Personal data may be processed by MailChimp and its partners (e.g. Google Analytics). This data collection is the responsibility of MailChimp and we have no influence on it. In the “Cookie Statement” of MailChimp (under: https://mailchimp.com/legal/cookies/) you can read exactly how and why the company uses cookies.

How do I prevent data storage?

You can withdraw your consent to receive our newsletter at any time within the received e-mail by clicking on the link in the lower area. If you have unsubscribed by clicking on the unsubscribe link, your data will be deleted by MailChimp.

If you reach a MailChimp website via a link in our newsletter and cookies are set in your browser, you can delete or deactivate these cookies at any time.
